Foster Program

“Foster parents are not only asked to care for the basic needs of a child, but to also sit alongside them as they digest the hurt and loss they have experienced.”

The more educated about loss that foster parents can become the better they can help the foster child/ren, their biological children, and themselves.

HALos foster program will meet the first Friday of each month giving the foster parents an opportunity to meet other foster parents, develop peer support, discuss their concerns, and develop positive coping skills.

Theme appropriate books, therapeutic activities and games will be utilized to give the foster children and the biological children an opportunity to identify, share, label their feelings, and identify their losses created by their individual fostering experience.
